Acer Malaysia has launched the Nitro QG0 series of monitors, available now. The three monitors, the Nitro QG270S3, QG240YS3 and QG240YH3 are all priced reasonably at RM589, RM499 and RM379 respectively.
Acer says this is so that “casual gamers can enjoy fast-paced gaming”, but it has enough features that you come to expect from a gaming monitor. The high refresh rate, maxing out at 180Hz (100Hz for the QG240YH3). It has AMD FreeSync so screen-tearing over uneven framerate isn’t an issue. Response time is a decent 4ms. It uses VA panel displays and all three, surprisingly, support HDR10.
The colours are at 95% sRGB coverage which isn’t what you want if you work in professional content creation but for gaming, that’s good enough.
All three monitors support HDMI 2.0 and an audio-out jack. The QG270S3 and QG240YS3 have DisplayPort 1.4 whilst the QG240YH3 swaps that out for a VGA connector- if you ever want to use your vintage desktop PC from the 00s or earlier.
The QG270S3 has a 27-inch screen whereas the other two are 24-inch displays.
