The hunt is on. Capcom has revealed the Monster Hunter Wilds will have an open beta and will go live on PS5, Steam and Xbox Series X|S on November 1, 11 AM (Malaysia Time, GMT+8).
PS Plus subscribers will get more time on the open beta. Early access to the open beta for PS5 begins October 29, 11 AM.
The beta will end on November 4, 10.59 AM.
Character Creator
The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta allows you to create your hunter and participate in the “Story Experience Quest” and “Doshaguma Hunt” quest.
Players have access to the full character creator, which includes the creation of the Palico. The beta allows access to the character creator at any time so you can adjust the hunter and Palico’s looks however you like.
Character creation information can be carried over to the full game.
Available Hunts
The “Story Experience Quest” is more or less the prologue to Monster Hunter Wilds which will include story and cutscenes, basic tutorial, and the hunt for Chatacabra.
Meanwhile, the “Doshaguma Hunt Quest” requires you hunt for the Alpha Doshaguma among a Doshaguma pack.
Both of these quests can be tackled solo or with players online. Sending an SOS Flare will call in other players to help you in the hunt. If no players responded, up to three NPC hunters will join in instead.
You can also bring in friends, no matter what platform they are on (cross-play is available) to tackle the two hunts.
You can add friends on other platforms during the beta, but this will not carry over to the main game.
Completing the beta will unlock the following items that can be used in the actual game:
- Pendant: ‘Palico Teddy’
- Item Pack
The news of the open beta came alongside a showcase of another biome (field), Oilwell Basin.
Monster Hunter Wilds will be out on February 28 for the PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
