Minor Armored Core VI Update Fixes Hitbox For Select Parts

Armored Core fans, no, there is no big news. There is however a minor update for Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon.

Update 1.08.1 isn’t anything exciting, so fans who were hoping that there are new Armored Core news (outside of the release of the first-gen AC games on PS4 and PS5) this isn’t it.

What the update brings is hit detection improvements to select Frame Parts that were hard to hit. Apparently, some parts just had wonky hitboxes, which means damage won’t register if a weapon hits the part at some angles.

It looks like three particular parts were affected by this bug being fixed, which is essentially resulted in a nerf. So to compensate, the stats have gotten a minor boost.

The affected parts are:

  • CORE “AC-J-120 BASHO”: increased Booster Efficiency Adj.
  • BIPEDAL “NACHTREIHER/42E”: increased AP
  • BIPEDAL “VE-42A”: increased AP

Alongside that, the update also adjusted enemy AC stagger behaviour on getting multiple hit detections, and fixed a bug that prevents ACS (stagger meter) buildup in specific circumstances.

See, all minor things, as most fans by now should already be done with the campaign. There’s not even any balance changes. Though PVP players that have exploited this bug may need to change up things.

The full patch notes can be found here.

Previously, there were updates which added new parts to the mecha-action game, so hearing the announcement of a game update may have gotten some folks all excited for something.

Developer FromSoftware is still putting in efforts on their other big franchise, Elden Ring, with a multiplayer spin-off title coming this May, after releasing a massive paid expansion for the base game last year.

But the release on Armored Core 1, Project Phantasma and Master Of Arena on modern PlayStations is pretty dope, if you want to revisit the games that started it all more than 25 years ago.

Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
