Armored Core VI Patch 1.05 Adds Ranked Multiplayer, New Parts

Ravens, there is news. Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon is getting a free update later today. Patch 1.05 will be adding new content which includes ranked online matchmaking or multiplayer PVP, ranked leaderboards, new PVP maps, personalised nameplates and new AC parts.

PVP enjoyers now have something to aspire to, or prove their worth, with ranked online matches. Players can climb the ranks, from unranked to S Rank, on the online leaderboards. 1V1 and 3V3 have seperate leaderboards so you climb up the rankings solo as a lone Raven, or as a team in ranked matches.

Nameplates can be purchased with Nest Points, earned from completing ranked matches and how well the results of each match are.

The PVP community has been thriving despite the basic online multiplayer features it has had (there’s online lobbies and some stat tracking but that’s about it). So now the mechheads who are deep into the buildcrafting, and the skilled pilots, have more things to work on post-game.

Speaking of, there will be new AC parts added to Armored Core VI. The trailer shows a few blink-and-you-missed-it glimpses of the new parts. But some fans might have already seen an official guide by Future Press that have accidentally released the patch notes too early.

The new parts include a full set of the LAMMERGEIER parts, which includes a new lightweight tetrapod leg. The Schneider-manufactured parts are lightweight. And for Armored Core veterans lamenting the loss of hover legs, the new tetrapod leg folds and form into a hover leg when you hover, something the two other tetrapod legs don’t do.

And for Armored Core veterans lamenting the loss of chain guns or gatling guns as shoulder weapon options, fret not as the new SHAO-WEI gatling cannons are here. They don’t require reloading, won’t require you to stop when firing regardless of leg type, though they tend to overheat quickly.

The full patch notes can be found here. Some major changes include the nerf of all Boost Kicks (you can’t cancel out of a kick as quick as before), a slight nerf on bazooka’s area-of-effect (after they were significantly buffed in a previous update) and a range buff to assault rifles and machine guns. For PVP players, there’s the issue where projectile weapon hits are not in sync (causing bazookas to be indirectly be too powerful online) has been addressed.

Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review here.
