The latest Mini Motorways free update adds a new map to the minimalist traffic puzzler/simulator.
The Aurora Borealis update lets you build roads, highways and bridges in the city of Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland. The map brings a new challenge to players, as the peninsula shape and the jagged coves surrounding the lands are atypical when compared to other maps in Mini Motorways.
Most fascinating is that you can unlock bridges, but there’s only small islands off the coast to connect to. So you’ll likely be building bridges that goes along the coast. It’s also a pretty cramped map.
If you need a reason to check back in to Dinosaur Polo Club’s latest game, after the big 10th anniversary update, well this is a good one. It’s cool to see the devs showcasing various cities around the world and use that as an opportunity to create new ways to play.
On another note, the dev team also has this message in regards to the town of Grindavik, Iceland, which is facing the threat of volcanic eruption:
“Our thoughts are with the people of Grindavik during this stressful time and we hope that this update can serve as a celebration of the beauty of Iceland’s beloved capital, Reykjavík.”
Mini Motorways launched with six maps, and has since added 14 maps for free, including Reykjavik.
Mini Motorways is available now on PC and Mac via Steam, Nintendo Switch and Apple Arcade.
