Minecraft With RTX Goes Into Beta Testing This Week

Nvidia has been working on many projects to showcase the power of its RTX graphics cards, the latest one following Quake RTX is for Minecraft. Yes, Minecraft, with ray-traced lighting is a thing.

And it’s going to be a real thing by this week as it goes into beta. Players with Minecraft for Windows 10 can opt into the beta and try out Minecraft with RTX. All you need to do is sign-up for the Minecraft beta via the Xbox Insider Hub app. You also obviously need a PC with at least an RTX 2060 GPU.

To showcase the power of RTX in Minecraft, Nvidia is making six worlds avaialble to download via the Minecraft Marketplace. Three of them was showcased before– created by content creators to showcase the new lighting and texture effects. Alongside that, Minecraft with RTX also supports DLSS – the AI-driven anti-aliasing feature.

The beta begins on Thursday, April 16th 10AM Pacific (Friday, April 17th 1AM Malaysian Time, +8GMT).

Minecraft with RTX will be arriving in its full form sometime later this year.
