Well, here’s an interesting game premise. Keep your eyes, stare if you have to, on a pretty fox shrine maiden. For good reason.
In The Fox’s Way Home, you are trapped in this other world, and the only way you can escape is through the help of the fox maiden voiced by Uchida Maaya (Bocchi the Rock, Urusei Yatsura).
To help her, you need to suss out if the current maiden dance ritual is being performed by the real fox maiden, or an imposter mononoke.
If you think it’s the real fox dancing, say it’s true. If it becomes sussy, say it’s fake. Repeat until all eight lanterns are lit.
The challenge comes from trying to actually pay attention if something’s off and not get distracted by the seductive dance. There’s a lot being put into the animation work as seen in the trailer.
The Fox’s Way Home is more of a casual game—you literally have to stare at a pretty anime lady and pick one of two choices—but it should sound appealing to anime and VTuber fans, folks who have likely watch and support 3D anime ladies dance (and that’s totally fine and acceptable).
The Fox’s Way Home is developed by indie devs BeXide.
The Fox’s Way Home is out now on PC (Steam).
