The makers of Hitman, Kane & Lynch and the very good Freedom Fighters, are working on a new IP. IO Interactive that this new IP, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be handling the publishing and distribution duties.
Warner Bros. is the folks that re-released Hitman 2016 and published Hitman 2 and Hitman HD Collection.
“Over the past few years, Warner Bros. has shown us first-hand that they understand and respect our creative vision, and we’re looking forward to continuing this relationship,” said IO Interactive, CEO Hakan Abrak.
IO now has two studios, the one in Copenhagen, Denmark and the recently opened studio at Malmo, Sweden. The developer is now recruiting for new talents to work on the new IP, which both studios will be working on.
A new Hitman is sort-of on the cards already, and looking that Warner Bros. is confident enough to partner with IO for a new IP should be a big boost for the company almost on the line of shutting down a few years ago.
Between this and Back 4 Blood by Turtle Rock Studios, Warner Bros. have a few new AAA games up their sleeves.
