Pack your bags and get the whip, PlayStation players. Indiana Jones And The Great Circle is PS-bound this April.
The latest game by MachineGames in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games launched on Xbox and PC last December, and it will soon depart on its multi-platform journey with a PS5 release. It will also be PS5 Pro Enhanced.
It’s a good thing that this new Indy game featuring a Great Circle is launching in April and not in The Month Of May, where another great circle of sorts (more of brick-shaped oval actually) in Indiana, USA will be taking the headlines.
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle is set in 1937 between the events of two films, Indiana Jones And The Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade.
The game is a first-person cinematic adventure game, with the occasional third-person camera switch now and then. But the main draw of the game is the ability to use protagonist Indy’s whip, wits and anything he can get his hands on as he improvise through combat sequences or avoid them outright via stealth, as well solving puzzles. Expect a globe-trotting adventure where fascists must be punched.
There will be two new whip abilities added to all platforms to coincide the launch of The Great Circle on PS5:
- Open Season
- whip-cracking an enemy will temporarily cause them to take more damage from subsequent attacks”
- Sleight of Hand
- players can disarm an enemy and cause their weapon to fly Indy’s way
The release date was revealed with a new trailer featuring Troy Baker, the voice of Indiana Jones in the game alongside fellow recurring voice actor Nolan North.
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle was one of the few Xbox exclusives from publisher Bethesda post-Microsoft acquisition. Xbox has since pivoted into being a multiplatform publisher, which allows Bethesda to be a multiplatform publisher again, with its upcoming release Doom: The Dark Ages.
Within Bethesda’s recent releases, that leaves only Starfield to yet make the leap to PlayStation.
