The developers of Firewatch are officially putting hold of their next game, In The Valley Of Gods. Announced at The Game Awards 2017, the adventure game got fans worried as developers of the game removed any mention of the game from their Twitter bio.
Campo Santo co-founder Jake Rodkin gave a statement to Polygon, stating that “In the Valley of Gods development is on hold—but it certainly feels like a project people can and may return to.”
The team was recently acquired by Valve. And now the members are contributing to various Valve projects, not limited to just Valve’s upcoming VR game Half-Life: Alyx. Some are working on Dota Underlords and Steam.
So for those waiting on the next game from the folks that made Firewatch, don’t hold your breath. It’s not outright canceled but it will be a long time until we hear about this game again. And as we all know, Valve Time works in mysterious ways.
