IO Interactive announced that Hitman World Of Assassination, the game previously known as Hitman 3 that includes all content from Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2, is coming to the Switch 2.
More importantly, this release will run natively on the hardware. Previously, several of the Hitman games were available on Nintendo Switch, albeit playable via cloud streaming, which isn’t the ideal way to play (especially if your data plan has data cap).
The Switch 2 is a more capable console, at least as powerful as a PS4 or Xbox One, that it can run Hitman natively.
This Nintendo Switch 2 release of the game, Hitman World Of Assassination – Signature Edition, includes the main campaign, Contracts mode, Escalation, Elusive Target arcade, the roguelike Freelancer Mode, “feature live content” and content from all Hitman 2 Expansion Packs and content from Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack.
In Hitman World Of Assassination, players take on the role of Agent 47, a professionally unaliver completing contracts across the globe, from lavish parties to the rich and famous to a race track.
How a player approaches each mission is left open, with many opportunities, some guided and slightly scripted, on how a target can end up not being alive. From freak accidents to all-out bloodbath, and from following scripted sequence of events to engage with the multiple systems to create a chaotic outcome, and from smuggling a rifle to a sniper perch to throwing a suitcase that comically homes into a target.
In addition to Hitman, IO Interactive also confirms that its new James Bond game, still under the codename Project 007, will be coming to Switch 2 as well.
Hitman World Of Assassination – Signature Edition will launch on the Switch 2 sometime in June. The game is also available now on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch (via cloud streaming) and PS VR2.
