Hitman 2 (2018) Announced For November Release, Skips Episodic Release

F1 race in Miami sounds like a bad idea now

Hitman 2 has been announced. As teased previously (and leaked), this is a direct continuation to Hitman (2016), but unlike that game, it will skip the experimental episodic rollout. All the maps- six brand new ones- will be out at once as a full release, published by Warner Bros.

The announcement trailer showcases one of the first mission which takes place during an endurance race on a city track in Miami. Agent 47 can attempt to assassinate a target, a driver in the race. Sniping, sabotaging the car’s suspension, or poisoning the driver in some way will all lead to a mission complete. It’s all up to you to nail the target.

The setting and theme is entirely new to the series, and may Formula One fans a bit too close for comfort.

One new mechanic is that item smuggling using the briefcase is now back, returning from past games. There will be more unexpected weapons such as an iron and a measuring tape. Co-op is also available in the form of Sniper Assassin mode. The mode is available right away if you pre-order the game now.

This is the second game in the series to have the name Hitman 2, the first was Hitman 2: Silent Assassin in 2002.

Hitman 2 will be out on November 13th for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
