Here’s 20 Minutes Of Anthem Gameplay From E3 2018

A more convincing look at the co-op shooter RPG

Anthem’s E3 presentation at EA Play may felt underwhelming for most of use watching from the streams, but many outlets that get to see and play the game are reporting positive vibes, enough for the game to walk away with the E3’s Best Action Game award.

EA and Bioware are now showing the gameplay snippet shown at E3 in full. Instead of the abridged version we saw at the presentation, here’s 20 minutes of gameplay from a mission, narrated by Lead Producer Ben Irving.

The video highlights the many small details that would have made a stronger presentation for Anthem. Some of them includes the ability to invite friends and guild members to start a mission together, no level requirements to join someone’s mission, players can join a mission midway, and a breakdown of how combat works.

Anthem’s shooting, ability use and combo opportunities will familiar to those that played Mass Effect, in particular Andromeda where the saving grace of the misstep was its fun combat. But instead of just jumping jets that can let you hover for a short time, you can also fly freely as a form of mobility when moving across the open world, which has a day-night cycle. And yes, there’s also a boss fight with phases where co-operation is key.

Have a look:

Anthem will be out on February 22nd for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
