GTA SIX Now Available On PC (No, Not That One)

The new incarnation of Acclaim in the form of an indie label is now bringing back some of that ghost from the past with this marketing stunt.

Acclaim is releasing GTA SIX on PC.

That stands for “Get The Acclaim SIX,” by the way.

No, this is not about the one game everyone is waiting to pre-load on consoles. No relation whatsoever.

This cheeky stunt includes not one, but six whole indie games under the new Acclaim.

The games in the GTA SIX bundle includes the following (including descriptions as per the press release):

  • Pixel Washer – The cozy, retro-inspired power-washing sim starring Pigxel, a pig with a power washer and a mission to blast a grimy town back to a pixel-perfect shine.
  • Katanaut – Wield your razor-sharp katana to slice and dice your way through a space station infested with cosmic horrors in this bloody roguelike adventure.
  • GRIDbeat! – Move to the beat to hack your way into the most heavily fortified corporate network to ever exist. Steal data, outwit deadly defenses, and groove to a pumping soundtrack in this rhythm-based dungeon crawler.
  • Ground Zero Hero – Explore the wasteland, crunch on candy, and harvest the glowing guts of your enemies to evolve into the ultimate freak in this over-the-top autoshooter.
  • The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest – After a psychologist visit goes horribly wrong, you find yourself trapped in the mind of a game developer on the brink of physical and emotional burnout in a surreal microvania.
  • Basketball Classics – Take it to the court in sweaty, backboard-breaking 5-on-5 hoops in this love letter to the classic arcade sports games of the 8-bit era.

“Unlike some other SIXes, our GET THAT ACCLAIM SIX PC Bundle is affordable, available right now, and actually comes with six games,” said Marc Anthony Rodriguez, Director of Publishing & Strategic Partnerships at Acclaim, Inc.

“We know, it’s a pretty wild concept. Six games you can actually play today, without waiting years, downloading massive updates, or wondering when they’re coming out. Just great games, ready when you are and immediately fun.”

Them’s fighting words from the new Acclaim. It is noted that the previous incarnation of Acclaim is notable for wild marketing stunts, from paying speeding tickets to promote Burnout 2: Point Of Impact (which caught the attention of the UK government) to having posters of Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance seep blood over time, an act which coined the term “bloodvertising.”

This GTA SIX bundle is nowhere near the level that will require the one Super Best Friends Podcast episode name “Bloodvertise that Turok Tattoo on your Shadow Baby” to be appended, but it sure is funny seeing that old Acclaim spirit is somehow being lived up to by the new management behind this resurrected brand.

This is the same Acclaim that is publishing the upcoming SSX-esque snowboard racer HyperYuki: Snowboard Syndicate and the upcoming roguelike and ode to Mega Man game KidBash: Super Legend.
