Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, the fighting game based on Cygames’ popular mobile RPG, gets a new DLC character and a game update.
The DLC character is Beatrix. She fights wielding the Embrasque Sword, but her moveset really has throwing a bunch of kicks including divekicks, slides and short upward kicks that can combo into divekicks.
Beatrix joins the Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising roster as part of Battle Pass Round 4. Previously the game has added Lucius, 2B of Nier Automata, and Vane, with two more characters coming soon.
Alongside the DLC is the release of Battle Pass Round 4. These will unlock in-game items including character illustrations, music, badges, trophies and lobby avatars. The Premium Battle Pass Round 4 DLC unlocks extra colours and weapon skins for Beatrix. Also, she has a extra costume, Indigo Witch, which looks to be inspired by Beatrix (Halloween) from the original Granblue Fantasy game.
There’s another DLC costume added to GBVSR in the form of Knight’s Finery for Lancelot. This looks to also be inspired by an existing depiction of the character, The Dragon Knights (Lancelot).
Version 1.40 of GBVSR has made several changes as well as some balance changes. You can find the patch notes here.
Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is out now on PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam). The game has a free-to-play version with a limited roster. The game is currently 20% off on both platforms until June 5 (on PlayStation) and June 4 (on Steam). This is the first time the game has a discount for the PS4 and PS5 versions.
