Gran Turismo 7’s First Free Content Update Adds Three New Cars, One New Track Layout

Gran Turismo 7’s first rollout of free content update is here. Well, after the server maintenance is done at least. The April 2022 Free Update (Update 1.13) adds in three new cars and one new track layout of an existing circuit.

As customary to Gran Turismo these days, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi had shared a teaser of the new cars ahead of the update release. And looks like most of the guesses by fans are true.

First, we’re getting the Subaru BRZ GT300. This is the #61 R&D Sport piloted by Takuto Iguchi and Hideki Yamauchi that won the 2021 Super GT in the GT300 Class.

But Subaru fans are not only getting a race car, the update is also adding the 2021 facelift of the Subaru BRZ as well.

Lastly, kei car enthusiast will be glad to see the return of the Suzuki Cappucino. The one coming to GT7 is from the 1991 model year, EA11R.

As for the track layout, we’re getting the 24-hours layout of Spa-Francorchamps. Don’t expect major changes though, as the endurance race layout only changes where the pit entry is.

There are also new Scapes locations added with the update: “Gassho-style Houses in Ainokura” and “Cherry Blossoms at Night”.

Honestly, it’s not the most exciting of additions. But given the racing game had to address more important issues, like an awful economy that makes players have to grind too long to earn credits to buy some of the rarer cars. This issue has been somewhat addressed in the recent updates prior to this.

That Toyota GR010, previously revealed to be coming to GT7, will be coming in next month’s update from the looks of it.

Gran Turismo 7 is out now for the PS4 and PS5.
