Ghost Of Tsushima On PC Won’t Require PSN Account To Play Single-Player Mode

After the short debacle that was Helldivers 2 enforcing all players on PC to have a PlayStation Network (PSN) account (PlayStation has backed down and won’t do so anymore), here’s some good news.

The upcoming PC port of Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut won’t require a PSN account to play the game’s main single-player mode.

This should be in line with prior PlayStation Studios PC release which includes the Uncharted Legacy Of Thieves Collection and Horizon Forbidden West, where you don’t need to have a PSN account to log in.

But Ghost Of Tsushima does have a multiplayer mode, Legends, and will introduce the new PlayStation overlay. To use those features, you’ll need a PSN account.

Developer Sucker Punch confirmed this on a reply on Twitter.

This does mean that if you are not living in the 69 countries where PSN is supported, you are not able to play Ghost Of Tsushima’s Legends multiplayer mode, even on PC. But at least this was not retroactively being enforced, which was the big issue with Helldivers 2.

PlayStation is investing big in bringing their previously console-exclusive games to PC. While the single-player games have so far run to no major issues, the console maker and publisher is actively learning about how vast the PC market is and how many customers are not covered under the PlayStation Network that are willing to buy their games.

Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be released on PC on May 16.
