Gearbox Software Confirms Another Borderlands Game Is In The Works

In a recent panel at PAX East, Borderlands developers confirm that they will be making another entry of the series. “It’s no secret, obviously there’s going to be another Borderlands,” Gearbox CEO and president Randy Pitchford said. Fans of the series would come to no shock of this news, though the developers have been busy working on the FPS-MOBA hybrid Battleborn.

Cheekily, Gearbox didn’t confirm the exact name. We are expecting it to be Borderlands 3, but as Ptichford added:  “We don’t even know if we’re going to call it that. We could call it Borderlands 4 for all we know,” referencing it would be the fourth Borderlands game counting 2K Australia’s Borderlands The Pre-Sequel.

No concrete info was given during the panel except for Battleborn art director Scott Kester will reprise the same role for this new project, possibly called Borderlands 3. Others were just teasers, like maybe adding easter eggs of the next Borderlands in Battleborn’s future DLC and a cut character called Scooper that may eventually make the cut next time.

Aside from that, expect to see more news coming after at least one year of Battleborn launching. Thier focus would probably be on the game they are releasing this May.
