PS Plus’ free game offers can sometime be different for Asia regions compared to US and EU regions. So when Playstation Blog announces the free games we always have to wait for the official word from Playstaion Asia.
For instance, this month. It’s radically different.
First, let’s look at the PS Plus free games for US and EU:
- Heavy Rain (PS4)
- Absolver (PS4)
- Extreme Exorcism (PS3, PS4)
- Space Overlords (PS Vita)
- Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma (PS Vita)
- Call Of Duty Black Ops III (PS4)
We already received Heavy Rain earlier than other regions, yet we still not received David Cage’s other game, Beyond: Two Souls. Black Ops III was free back at Sony’s E3 press conference and continues to be available should you missed it. Absolver is a cool soulslike brawler with customisable combos and support for PvP and PvE published by Devolver Digital, yet to be available on Asia’s PS Store.
Now here’s the list for Asia this month:
- Call Of Duty Black Ops III (Until July 11th) (PS4)
- Omega Quintet (PS4)
- Alone With You (PS4, PS Vita)
- XCOM Enemy Unknown Plus (PS Vita)
- River City Super Sports Challenge (PS3)
Based on the YouTube stats, the trailer has received major dislikes. Most complaints are due to Beyond: Two Souls still missing in Asia and the games in the list are not what you would expect.
Still, it’s a good reminder that you should not subscribe to PS Plus solely for the prospect of good games being offered monthly, but as an extra perk. Only subscribe it for the ability to play online multiplayer and maybe use cloud saves to avoid feeling to bummed out when months like this happened.
But give Omega Quintet a shot. A JRPG with idols might be worth checking a look. All of these games are now available to download on the Playstation Store.
