Remedy’s upcoming multiplayer based on Control, FBC: Firebreak gets a new trailer revealed.
The 2-minute trailer shows a group of the Firebreak, a response unit within the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), on a mission to take out a threat in the Bureau’s headquarters, The Oldest House.
The threat? A sentient swarm of sticky notes. Yeah. If you played Control, you know that there are some odd (creepy) things in there, and also odd (silly) things. This is the latter, but in FBC: Firebreak, it can also kill you.
The gameplay trailer shows a frantic firefight against some… people, as well as the sticky note swarm. It’s a first-person shooter, with guns galore. Shotguns, chainguns with a crank, bolt action rifles. As well as some melee options. This is Remedy’s first first-person game and it looks like they’re a natural at it. Heck there’s one shot in the trailer that’s essentially a player pulling a rocket jump, but instead of a rocket launcher you bounce off the recoil from a large gun.
Previously, this live service multiplayer codenamed Project Condor was set to be co-published by 505 Games, who owned the Control IP rights. Remedy later took control of Control for a cool 17 million Euros.
FBC: Firebreak is launching this Summer (Q3 2025) on PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
Curiously, while the developers don’t make mention of this as a selling point, FBC: Firebreak’s trailer ends with the Xbox Game Pass logo, and PlayStation’s post on social media suggest it’s coming to PS Plus Game Catalog for PS Plus Extra subscribers. FBC: Firebreak is a paid multiplayer title, but if you’re on either console’s higher tier of subscription you might be able to play this day-1 of launch for no extra cost.
