Remedy Announces Control 2, To Be Co-Developed And Co-Published By 505 Games

Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that a sequel to Control 2 is in the works. The project was previously codenamed Project Heron and is currently in the concept stage. As such, this is a different game than the previously announced multiplayer Control spin-off, currently referred to as Project Condor.

Control 2 will see Remedy working together with publisher 505 Games again. The arrangement is a co-publishing and co-development deal, where “development, marketing, and post-launch investments as well as the future net revenues generated by the game” are split 50-50 between Remedy and 505 Games.

Control 2 is described as a “bigger budget Control game” and as it is right now, that development budget is 50 million Euros.

The game will be using Remedy’s proprietary Northlight game engine.

Control 2 will be published by Remedy on PC, while 505 Games handle the console release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Remedy is also currently working on Alan Wake 2 (which will be a full survival horror title) and remaking Max Payne 1 & 2 for Rockstar Games.

Control was Gamer Malaya and Gamer Matters’ Game Of The Year in 2019.
