Build A Rocket Boy, the development team founded by former Rockster North president Leslie Bensizes (one of the key personnel behind GTA Online) has properly revealed their upcoming game, Everywhere, at Opening Night Live of gamescom 2022.
Turns out what was supposed to be a codename is the actual name of the game.
The pitch for Everywhere is a wild one, so we are posting it in full here:
“Everywhere seamlessly blends gameplay, adventure, creativity, and discovery in an all-new multi-world gaming experience that redefines how players connect with one another and the digital world around them.”
Everywhere is also described as “a new multi-world game experience that blurs the line between reality and the digital world”.
The trailer shows a range of worlds in a stylised graphic, from a fantasy setting that would fit in a Greek epic to sci-fi worlds. And there are cars.
But the end stinger shows a more realistic world, with glimpses of some science experiment being forced upon a person.
This might be the allusion to the multi-worlds thing, or is it?
“Our intent has always been to push the boundaries of what a videogame can be while still delivering an innovative player-first experience,” said Benzies, who is the game director and Build A Rocket Boy chairman.
“The team we’ve built and the partners we’ve made since our founding are coalescing around the unique vision we’re bringing to life. It’s exciting to be a part of, and we can’t wait to reveal more about Everywhere in coming months.”
The teaser is short, and the details are full of lofty ambitions that we’re not sure if it will lead to a cool gaming experience, but at least now we know a little bit more about what the folks at Build At Rocket Boy are working on all this while. Though not much.
Everywhere is expected to launch in 2023.
