With the upcoming release of Windows 11, Microsoft is taking the time to also bolster up the Microsoft Store. The new Microsoft Store will be much more open for developers, not just by making it easier to put any apps on there without having to make a custom Windows Store version.
It’ll also allow other stores to be on the Microsoft Store, and they don’t need to share profits with Microsoft either.
Months back, it was revealed that the Amazon Store will be available on the Microsoft Store, which will make a plethora of Android apps accessible to Windows 11 PCs. Today, another big name, of epic proportions if you will, joins the list of stores-within-Microsoft Store.
The Epic Games Store will be available from the Microsoft Store. Through a new change of policies, Microsoft won’t bury other stores either, they will be able to be discoverable within the Microsoft Store.
This should not change anything for existing players who already download the Epic Games Store launcher on its own. But this opens up more discoverability for Epic’s own storefront. And also helps the Microsoft Store to be more relevant as a space to safely download apps from.
