Never underestimate the collective power of the Dragon Ball fanbase. Bandai Namco announced sales for Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero has now passed 5 million copies.
This makes Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero the fastest selling Dragon Ball console game.
3 of the 5 million sales were from just the first week of launch back in October last year.
Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is the latest sequel of the game series known in English-speaking regions as the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series, the first in 15 years.
In Japan, the series has always been known as Dragon Ball Z: Sparking!, which meant this entry sees a name realignment like what Sega did to the then-Yakuza now-Like A Dragon series.
Developed by Spike Chunsoft, the 3D arena fighter brings 182 characters not only from Dragon Ball Z but the entire Dragon Ball series, as how they would appear in the anime. The game features online multiplayer, an Episode Battle mode that recreates battles from the anime series, and even a Custom Battle mode where players can create and share their own custom scenarios. The game is still supported, with the new Hero Of Justice DLC just dropped, adding 11 more characters to the already huge roster.
Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is out now on PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
