Dota Is Getting An Anime Series On Netflix, Releasing March 25

Netflix announced they will be launching a new 8-episode animated series based on Valve’s Dota 2.

Dota: Dragon’s Blood centers around the Dragon Knight hero, Davion. The following is the official blurb from the announcement:

“Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”

Ashley Edward Miller (X-Men: First Class​, Thor, and Black Sails​) is the series showrunner with Studio MIR (The Legend of Korra, Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender) are the animation team for Dota: Dragon’s Blood.

Dota: Dragon’s Blood will launch globally on March 25.

Netflix have been producing a number of video game IPs into an animated series for their streaming service. Previously, they released one for Dragon’s Dogma and Castlevania. A series for Cyberpunk 2077 is still in the works.
