Dirt Rally 2.0 Getting Oculus Rift VR Support Post-Launch
Yes VR, Yes Buy
Dirt Rally 2.0, the latest entry to Codemasters’ rally racing series, will be out this month. Bearing the “Rally” moniker in the name, the new game serves to include more realistic, and brutal, driving physics just like what most hardcore sim racers loved with Dirt Rally.
However, one element prevalent that does not sit well with the community surrounding this game is the lack of VR support. Dirt Rally only had one for PS VR, though mods allowed the use of PC-based VR headsets for PC players. Look back at the chat and comments on Dirt Rally 2.0’s videos and live streams, there is a big demand for VR. “No VR No Buy” was spammed a lot.
Codemasters are definitely listening and has now announced that support for the Oculus Rift VR headset is coming this summer.

This means that it will not arrive in time for launch, and will be added later as an update for PC.
Dirt Rally 2.0 will feature new hand-crafted stages, new cars including some from Porsche and realistic physics with the help of rally driver and WRC Esports champion Jon Armstrong as a consultant. Interestingly, he recently drove in the Galway International Rally in a Dirt Rally 2.0 themed Ford Fiesta R5, finishing a respectable 4th overall.
Dirt Rally 2.0 will be out on February 26th for the PS4, PC (Steam) and Xbox One.
