Ahead of Steam Next Fest, the developers for Schim (stylised as SCHiM) have dropped the demo early on PC. You can try it out here.
Steam Next Fest goes live on June 10, where the PC storefront will highlight the many upcoming games with playable demos. But if you want to jump ahead and try this demo now, go for it.
Developed by two developers from the Netherlands, Ewoud van der Werf and Nils Slijkerman, Schim has one compelling pitch– what if you can jump from shadow to shadow? It’s one of those schoolchildren’s playground thoughts turned into a video game and seeing a gif, or its trailer, is enough to show how compelling that idea is.
Pair that with the aesthetic inspired by European, specifically Dutch, cities, and its high contrast colour palate (which makes the shadows even more pronounced, even in night time), and you a real looker of a 3D platformer.
Schim will be jumping to release on July 18 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
