Dead As Disco is getting on the dance floor. Revealed during the April 2026 Triple-I Initiative Showcase was the Early Access release date for Brain Jar Games’ fascinating rhythm-based brawler.
The beat-’em-up-to-the-beat-of-the-music game is so fascinating that over 1.2 million players tried the demo, and has amassed over 300 million views online from player-created clips. Players not only are putting their own songs, they even have modded out the player characters into other licensed characters.
Here’s one example of Deadpool beating people up to the tune of N’Sync’s Bye Bye Bye. A jarring combination if you’re not aware of that recent Deadpool & Wolverine film.
Dead As Disco in Early Access will include the first arc of the campaign, a story where you, as Charlie Disco, beat up your former bandmates who all have become Idols.

The game will include over 30 songs at launch, and yes, the popular feature from the demo where you can import your own music via “My Music” will be available. Close enough, welcome back, Beat Hazard.
Dead As Disco will also have character customisation, home base customisation, and skill trees that unlocks new moves as you progress through the story.
Dead As Disco will be out in Early Access on May 5 on PC (Steam).
There’s been a good influx of rhythm-based games that aren’t rhythm games. If this is your jam, we also recommend you to check out Rhythm Rat Rampage, a rhythm-based bullet heaven.
