Crimson Desert, the single-player action-adventure game from Black Desert devs Pearl Abyss, continues to show more gameplay after its big showing at Gamescom 2024 last August. Here’s another gameplay trailer showing a new boss fight.
The boss, Hexe Marie, shows a two-phase boss battle, one where protagonist Kliff must clear off hordes of the witch’s minions. Kliff is seen here using ranged weaponry, a bow and arrow, to complement his usual sword-and-shield moveset.
The second phases sees Kliff goes toe-to-toe with Hexe Marie and her many particle effects. It’s a sight to behold, but if you’re familiar with Black Desert, you already know what these devs are capable of.
It’s worth mentioning that the little snippets of voice acting we’ve seen from these gameplay clips shows that Crimson Desert is doing at least one thing better than Black Desert.
This new boss fight gameplay footage comes from the demo build shown at G-STAR 2024, the game exhibition show held in Busan last November. This updated build has some UI changes from the one shown at Gamescom 2024.
Crimson Desert will be offering more than just a solid combat, as an earlier trailer showed the breadth of this open world game set in the fantasy world of Pywel has to offer.
South Korean developers have aggressively been expanding into the mainstream AAA games space, with Lies Of P, Stellar Blade and The First Descendant being recent examples. And Crimson Desert is looking to be on course to join that company.
Crimson Desert has no release date yet, but it will launch simultaneously on consoles and PC.
