Corsair Is Making A Gaming Laptop

Corsair, the brand known for making PC components as well as gaming and game-streaming accessories, is now making its own gaming laptop.

Its first gaming laptop, the Corsair Voyager a1600, will be powered entirely by AMD CPU (AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS) and GPU (AMD Radeon RX 6800M).

Not only that, but the Corsair Voyager a1600 will also be making use of AMD Advantage, a suite of systems that ensure the same AMD parts are working cohesively, eliminating any bottlenecks and thus ensuring maximum performance.

AMD Advantage also includes AMD Smart Memory, a new tech that was announced by AMD today which helps improve memory performance resulting in lower load times for apps and games.

A MUX switch is included as well.

The Corsair Voyager is also equipped with a 16-inch 240Hz 2560×1600 IPS display (every manufacturer is making a 16-inch display laptop it seems like), Cherry MX ultra-low profile switches on its keyboards, per-key RGB lighting, and 10 shortcut keys and macros customisable via Elgato’s Stream Deck software. Essentially, it has a built-in Stream Deck.

That’s not the only streamer-friendly feature in mind. The webcam included is a 1080p, 30fps webcam with a physical slider to close it and it includes a 4 microphone array that does ambient noise cancellation.

If you’re using a wireless Corsair peripheral, the Voyager supports three Corsair Slipstream Wireless accessories through an integrated receiver, freeing up the USB slots for other use.

There’s no word on pricing or when it’s available yet, but the notion of Corsair setting sails to the gaming laptop is something we look forward to seeing where it heads off to.
