Now that the beta for Firewalk’s upcoming multiplayer hero shooter Concord has wrapped up, the team has addressed some questions about what’s in store for the full game when it launches this August.
One particular important issue was at least addressed: players leaving mid-match.
“We are exploring a variety of methods, including leaver penalty systems, to incentivise players to start- and stat in- complete teams.”
This suggests that Concord will still to continue to have issues where players give up mid-match, or even worse leave at the character select screen. As per our impressions of the beta, Concord has no systems in check to ensure the 5V5 game will have all its players commit to a match, or fix any team imbalance in the case of a dropped player.
The thread of images as posted on Twitter also revealed the following information:
- Concord launches with 12 maps, 6 modes
- All progression rewards are cosmetics
- No Battle Pass
- New Freegunners (characters), maps and modes to be added post-launch. All free
- Each of the starting 16 characters on launch will have a variant (which brings different passives)
- Weekly cinematic vignettes
- Training mode will be available
Concord launches on August 15 for PS5 and PC.
