After 10 whole days of livestreaming a Fiat Multipla, Maverick Games finally revealed their upcoming open world racing game and debut title, Clutch.
The reveal is a casual teaser of sorts, where game director Mike Brown (who previously directed Forza Horizon 5) walk us through a few features about Clutch, while keeping some under wraps for the full reveal trailer at the upcoming Summer Game Fest.
Some of the key information revealed of Clutch are:
- Stars a sibling duo as protagonists
- Track racing in the fictional R1K racing series
- Late night street racing via the Midnight Collective
- Powered by a custom Unreal Engine 5 with detailed car interiors
- Extensive car customisation (exterior customisation includes neon lights, wheels and piecemeal exterior additions demonstrated on a Land Rover, including clutter for car interior (coffee cups, Red Bull can, loose apparel on seats)
- Cop chases and crime story
The full reveal of Clutch will be revealed at Summer Game Fest, which includes the reveal of the open world location. There’s mention of the Riviera, so it’s likely somewhere in southern Europe.
