Indie RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 reveals a series of new short trailers highlighting its cast of characters.
The first to receive one is the leading man of the titular expedition: Gustave. Voiced in English by Charlie Cox, the engineer has spent his life in improving the life in Lumière by designing defence and agricultural systems. But he’ll spending his final year of life, at age 33, to defeat the Paintress whose subjugated the people of this world with a curse that wipes an entire population of a certain age through her paintings, and at the point of this story, that age threshold is at 33.
The one-minute trailer gives a glimpse of Gustave in his pre-expedition days, how he traverses the world in-game and how he fights in turn-based combat. Dude wields a sword and pistol, and has an Overcharge mechanic where every hit, dodge and parry charges his arm. And when Overcharge is triggered, he’ll deal more damage.
Expect other key members of Expedition 33, so at least all the party members, to have their short character trailer.
