Civilization VII will officially be released tomorrow, and as any fan of the 4X strategy game would know, there’s bound to be more content additions.
And we have a roadmap of that, detailing what to expect of Civ VII in the first seven months of post-launch support.
As expected, Civ VII will be coming in hot with paid DLC packs, two of which are scheduled to drop this year. These packs are called Collections and will include 2 new leaders, 4 new civs and four new Wonders.
In the case of the first collection, Crossroads Of The World, it will be split into two different drops, to coincide with two different game updates which will add wonders (for free) and new events (limited-time challenges ala Community Challenges in Civ VI).
The reason why this is referred to as a collection is because, in the case of Crossroads Of The World Collection, it’s technically a bundle of 6 different DLCs, as the fine print suggests. Which means you can purchase leaders and civs ala carte (Civ VI allows players to buy DLC civs separately in some cases).

Here’s the first two Civ VII Collections coming this year:
Civilization VII Crossroads of the World Collection DLC (Paid) Content
Bold indicates contents that will drop in Early March as part of the first release (alongside Update 1.1.0), the rest drops alongside Update 1.1.1 in late March
- New Leaders:
- Ada Lovelace (New)
- Simon Bolivar
- New Civs:
- Great Britain
- Carthage
- Bulgaria (New)
- Nepal (New)
- 4 New Natural Wonders (TBA)
Civilization VII Right To Rule DLC (Paid) Content
- 2 New Leaders (TBA)
- 4 New Civs (TBA)
- 4 New World Wonders (TBA)
Civ VII won’t be short of content, though it will definitely be costly should you want to keep up with getting all the civs and leaders right as they release.
But at least the first batch of DLC leaders and civs are fantastic picks. Ada Lovelace is a figure that only now can be a civ leader as this game ditches the need for leaders must be a political leader of sort (as seen with the introduction of figures like Confucius, Machiavelli and Benjamin Franklin in the base game’s roster). It is odd to see the civ previously referred as England not making the base game cut only to appear as DLC next month, but at least the pack does include new-to-Civ Civs in the form of Bulgaria and Nepal.
Civilization VII is currently available for those that purchased the more expensive editions, but it will properly out tomorrow, February 11, for the for on PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and Switch.
