Another DLC pack as part of Civilization VI’s Leader Pass is now available. The Tulers Of The Sahara DLC Pack contains three new leaders, two of which can be used with just the base game, and the other requires the Gathering Storm expansion.
The three new leaders are Ramses and Ptolemaic Cleopatra for Egypt, and King Sundiata Keita for Mali.
Ramses’ unique ability is Abu Simbel:
- Gain Culture equal to 15% of the construction cost when finishing Buildings and 30% when completing Wonders.
It’s a simple one and can be contained in only one sentence one. But still quite potent on paper. Having an Egypt that has insane production and can rapidly construct buildings and Wonders will give them massive lump sum drops of culture, which should make it hard for others to pursue a cultural victory… unless Egypt is conquered.
Meanwhile, the new variant of Cleopatra, Ptolemaic Cleopatra, has the ability Arrival of Hapi:
- Resources along floodplains receive +1 food and +1 culture.
- +1 appeal on floodplains instead of standard -1.
This will make Egypt situationally strong, especially if there are plenty of floodplain tiles to set up cities on. The two different bonuses should boost Egypt in the early game and late game respectively, and both should give some advantage for a cultural win.
Lastly is the new leader for the Mali civ, King Sundiata Keita. His unique ability is Sogolon:
- It costs 20% less gold to Recruit Great People and the Market gains 2 Great Writing slots
- Great Works of Writing receive +4 Gold and +2 Production
This still plays well with Mali’s gold-centric gameplay, which should be flexible and open to different ways to win, but now you can hoard Great People too.
The Leader Pass has two more DLC packs of six to be released. The Leader Pass content for Civilization VI is currently only available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Mac App Store and iOS.
In other news, publisher 2K has confirmed that a new Civilization game is in the works.
