Civilization VI Details New DLC Civ Ethiopia

As promised, 2K and Firaxis shared the first look trailer for the upcoming DLC civ Ethiopia for Civilization VI, coming to the Ethiopia Pack DLC, part of the New Frontier Pass season pass.

Ethiopia as a Civ remains Faith-focused with a preference for hill tiles, but now with a splash of culture advantage too in the late game. Ethiopia’s main ability, Aksumite Legacy, gives Faith for every copy of improved resources, as well as trade routes with cities that have resources.

Ethiopia is led by Menelik II this time. His ability, Council Of Ministers, turns a portion of your Faith output into Science and Culture with cities founded on hill tiles. Plus a combat bonus on hills.

Ethiopia’s unique unit, the Oromo Cavalry is light cavalry replacement for the Courser with no movement penalty when moving on to hill tiles. The civ’s unique improvement, Rock-hewn Church, must be built on hills or volcanic soil and cannot be adjacent to each other. It provides a flat Faith output plus bonus based on how many adjacent mountain and hill tiles. It also provides Tourism in the late game.

This civ is built with a terrain advantage with some good synergies of Faith and Culture, which should be flexible enough for any kind of victory. And probably a tough nut to crack if they are the enemy with all their cavalry can move through hills with ease.

The Ethiopia Pack DLC will include the Ethiopia civ as well as a new game mode: Secret Societies. This game mode lets you join a vampire sect or worship eldritch horror, among other secret society activities.

The Ethiopia Pack DLC will be out on July 24 for the PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The pack itself is RM22, with the full New Frontier Pass priced at RM129.
