Catalunya Circuit Is Coming To Gran Turismo Sport

Last weekend so the European Finals of the FIA-Certified Gran Turismo Championships, held during Madrid Games Week. A new track was used for the event, one not yet made available in the current game.

It is none other than the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Catalunya has been the home to the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix for years and also serves as the location for pre-season testing. It’s mix of long curves, technical short corners and a long pit straight makes for some great racing, as seen in the final race of the Gran Turismo event.

This the first time Catalunya makes an appearance in Gran Turismo. Its appearance was long rumoured since last year when we heard a Gran Turismo event will be held at the circuit. It happened last month, for the Nissan Cup GT Sport event but the track did not appear there.

In addition, at least one new car was used in the event, the Maserati Gran Turismo S.

Gran Turismo Sport’s monthly content update will drop at the last week of the month, so expect to see Catalunya and a handful of cars to be added either this week or by October 31st.
