Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 Raised $2.2 Million USD For Charity

Annual speedrunning event Awesome Games Done Quick continues to grow bigger. The event is not just a spectacle of seeing games being broken and beaten in record times, but is also a charity drive.

Over 154 games were played throughout the one week period featuring various games including Battletoads, two Punch-Out games (played simultaneously), a very broken Prey 2017, Burnout Paradise’s Big Surf Island DLC and a 4-hour run of Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild to close out the event.

AGDQ 2018 was able to break last year’s record which reached over 2 million USD worth of donations. The record now is $2,261,823.19 USD. In 2017, it was $2,222,791 USD.

Congratulations to everyone involved with the event. The money was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The next speedrun event by Games Done Quick will be Summer Games Done Quick 2018, scheduled to be held on 24th June to 1st July.
