505 Games and Kunos Simulazioni announced the release of a new update for the Early Access racing sim Assetto Corsa Evo. Update 0.6, like all AC Evo updates before it, is a mix of new content as well as tons of general improvements to its core features.
First, the content. Update 0.6 for Assetto Corsa Evo adds six new cars, a good mix of race and road cars, though five of them have the “GT” moniker in their name. For the GT4 class there’s the Audi R8 LMS GT4 Evo. GT3 class being the popular racing class in the world currently of course have more representatives with the Ferrari 296 GT3, Ford Mustang GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport joining the stable.
The road cars cater to the classic wedge-shaped supercars of the 1980s. The Ferrari GTO (a.k.a the Ferrari 288 GTO) is the first flagship Ferrari that subsequently succeeded by the F40, a lineage that continues today with the most recent Ferrari F80. And the Lamborghini Countach needs no introduction, it’s the wedge-shaped supercar that just about anyone would recognise. This version is has a round belly (it’s the QV version), before the 25th Anniversary refresh that makes the Countach even more sharper and, well, wedgier which includes replacing the round belly to a side skirt with strakes.

Assetto Corsa Evo Update 0.6 New Track
AC Evo went with a good pick for a new track, and it’s the Sebring International Raceway. New to series, the home to the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race is known for one thing: it’s absolutely bumpy, which will challenge a driver’s technical capability with how many undulating and twisty turns, but also car setup.
The long straightway (which is actually a runway that’s part of an airfield) leads to the corner dubbed Sunset Bend, which has a long brake zone leading back to the home stretch. You’ll know why it’s called as such should you race at dusk, it’s a blind corner in more ways than one.
Assetto Corsa Evo Update 0.6 Other Additions
There’s a lot of improvements and new features added with AC Evo 0.6, which includes the following:
- Enhanced suspension physics that should “enhance load transfer communication, mechanical realism, and overall vehicle response across the roster”
- More stable multiplayer collisions thanks to “updated netcode timing and prediction logic”
- Improved reverb (when going under underpasses), with select cars had “refined sound sets, advanced multichannel management, and more distinctive audio identities”
- Official MoTeC telemetry support i.e. the same telemetry tool used for real race cars can now work with this sim “reinforcing [AC Evo]’s simulation and data-analysis capabilities for advanced users and content creators”
- UI improvement for car selection and controls settings
- Self-hostable game servers on top of the already available dedicated servers (Daily Racing Portal) and rentable custom ones made for serious league racing
Assetto Corsa Evo is out now on PC (Steam) in Early Access. You can find our impressions of the game during its Early Access launch here.
