A new Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon update just released, and no, before you scream “AGAIN?!?!?” in agony while clutching tightly the newly buffed bazookas, no, there is no balance changes in this patch.
The 1.04 patch is mostly for bug fixing, which includes addressing bugs like how the Bad Cook flamethrower disables hit boxes when a tetrapod-legged AC is hovering, and the WLT 101 coral oscillator (the red laser blade) would cancel fully charged attacks if the attack button was held continuosly.
Also, there’s an interesting change that isn’t really a bug fix. The tutorial text that explains “Replay Mission” now offers more explanation on how to get S-Ranks.
The tutorial text now reads as follows:
“To achieve an S-Rank rating, you must complete the mission without retrying from a checkpoint, while also destroying a large number of enemy targets and minimizing incoming damage, time taken, and ammunition consumed.”
It should be more clear now that S-Ranks require AC builds with less ammo usage (no gatling guns then), but also taking out a good number of enemies.
Funnily enough, the Armored Core community has figured out how to S-Rank missions, and there’s even an S-Rank calculator you can check out here. With the new tutorial explainer, all the uncovered details the community has done is now made canon.
