AMD continues to corner the mid-range market of desktop CPUs. Joining the Radeon RX 5700 of RDNA (Navi) graphics card is the Radeon RX 5500 XT, out now.
The RX 5500 XT is being marketed as the graphics card for 1080p gaming. Which is still a respectable resolution these days, not until the PS5 and Xbox Series X arrives later next year that is.
AMD claims it’s 13 percent better performing than the competition (with the competition being the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650), across AAA games and esports titles. AMD’s benchmark also claims it can run the latest games like Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, The Division 2 and Gears 5 at high settings with more than 60fps. More demanding games like Red Dead Redemption II and Borderlands 3 can hit more than 60fps at medium settings.
The RX 5500 XT can come with 4GB or 8GB of GDDR6 memory. Several OEMs including ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, Sapphire, and XFX will have their versions of the graphics card, which is out now. Price-wise, the SRP is at $169 USD- which should translate to around RM699 the least.
AMD also has launched a new update to its driver and software suite, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition, also out now.
