Acer Malaysia just launched a slew of new consumer laptops today for Malaysia. These slew of new laptops were first announced in a press conference in New York last month.
While we get to see new consumer laptops enter our market, no news on the new Predator G1 and Predator 17X, both announced in the same New York event, coming here just yet.
But if you’re looking for a normal laptop that can do some decent gaming, may we point you to the latest of the Aspire F series. The laptop has a dedicated graphics card, albeit a notebook version.
Pricing starts at RM2,699 (Intel i5-6200U, GeForce 940MX) with a higher end version at RM3,499 (Intel i7-6500U, GeForce 950M). Both version has 128GB SSD and 1TB of SATA HDD for storage, and just 4GB of RAM.
Not a powerhouse in terms of performance, 4GB of RAM isn’t enough nowadays, but it’s still decent enough for some light or medium gaming. However, these new generation of Acer laptops are easily upgradable so you can add and change the RAM or even the HDD included. It is easily accessible, with only three screws away to access those parts.
We will keep you posted whenever the new Predator devices arrive to our shores. In the meanwhile, the rest of the new consumer laptops- The Aspire E (entry-level), R (full rotation screen) and S (ultrabook) laptops will be available for purchase now and the Switch Alpha 12, a laptop-tablet hybrid with liquid cooling, arrives next week.
