Acer Freedom To Play Event Launches New Acer Aspires and Portable Monitor


Acer celebrated their Acer Day “Freedom to Play” event with the unveiling of a refreshed Aspire series laptops and a brand new portable monitor.

The Aspire 3 and 5 laptop series are a refresh of their continuous laptop series, now outfitted with the new Nvidia GeForce MX230 and MX250 (both with 2GBs of VRAM included),an Intel i7 or i5 Core processor and a choice between either a 1TB HDD or 256GB SSD With 4GBs of DDR4 RAM as base memory,with can be upgraded to 20GBs and 32GBs respectively.

Both of these are 16.7% lighter than it’s predecessors and for Aspire 5, come with a variation that includes a Intel core i5 and i3, along with a 14-inch Full HD display. The Aspire 3 on the other hand, comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display only.

But the star of the show is the new Acer PM161Q Portable Monitor, a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display with 1920×180 resolution output. It connects to any device via their USB Type-C connector and maybe even a Nintendo Switch (a dock mode for the upcoming Switch Lite,perhaps?)
