2D Sandbox Survival Sim Farworld Pioneers Now Available On PC, Xbox, Game Pass

What if Terraria but sci-fi? Well, there’s a game like that already called Starbound, but the indie team at Igloosoft, made up of developers that have worked on Starbound and Rimworld, has released a new game that’s in the same vein called Farworld Frontiers, out now.

Farworld Frontiers is a 2D side-scrolling sci-fi sandbox. Landing on an unknown planet, you (or a server full of up to 32 players) must build, farm, craft and survive the harsh lands. You’ll need to protect your base, or go and take down rival ones, as you terraform the planet to be your home.

You can also save NPC survivors, go to different planets to colonise and nuclear power is involved.

As for the multiplayer, you can choose to co-op with everyone or decide to build your own settlements and engage in a PVP. With a 32-player limit per server, that’s a lot of room for planetwide warfare, should you choose to engage in that.

Farworld Frontiers is out now on PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass day-1 of release. The game will head to PlayStation soon.
