Lenovo Malaysia has announced that two of its 2021 line of Lenovo Legion gaming laptops are now available for pre-orders in the country.
The first is the 2021 refresh to the Lenovo Legion 5. The 2021 Legion 5 comes equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU and an Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, enough power for you to run the latest next-gen games on PC.
The new Legion 5 also has a 15.6-inch display with 165Hz refresh rate (and 100% sRGB colour). It also has its proprietary TrueStrike keyboard (still chiclet look, but a tad more clicky), 4-zone RGB and Nahimic Audio for 3D audio.
On the software side, it supports Lenovo’s AI Engine and Dual Burn tech as well as ColdFront 3.0- Lenovo’s cooling tech.
Also, it comes in Phantom Blue colour, and despite the name, looks very evidently black or dark grey.
Here are the specs for the cheapest variant of the Lenovo Legion 5 AMD (2021):
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX3060 6GB GDDR6 VRAM (TGP: 130W)
- RAM: 16GB (2x 8GB)
- Storage: 1TB SSD M.2 PCIEe NVMe
- Display: 15.6-inch, 1080p, 165Hz refresh rate, IPS (100% sRGB), AMD FreeSync Premium
- Price: RM6,099
If you prefer a bit more of a gaming aesthetic in your gaming laptop, there’s also the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. This is new to the Legion line, and not only does it have the new (and currently rare) 16-inch screen, it also brings back Lenovo’s big Y logo emblazed on the back of the laptop.
The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro also has Dolby Vision and Niahmic Audio as well as Lenovo’s AI Engine, Dual Burn and ColdFront 3.0 tech. The TrueStrike keyboards are also there too.
The big thing from the Pro is the better graphics card, you can get an RTX 3070 in laptop form with the Legion 5 Pro. Also, it comes with Iron Grey colour, which, evidently, very much gray.
