Microsoft Flight Simulator, the 2020 release by Asobo Studio, has hit the 10 million players milestone, Microsoft announced.
The game is currently available on PC and on Xbox consoles, and like all Xbox Game Studio titles, it is included in Game Pass.
That’s not to say most of the numbers are just by casual fans checking out the latest version of this long-running flight sim series (40 years, to be precise). As a community, players of Microsoft Flight Simulator has clocked in these stats:
- 500 million flights
- 40 billion miles flown
- Equivalent of 10 million trips around the Earth
- Equivalent of 200 round trips from the Earth to the Sun
Microsoft Flight Simulator will continue to get updates in 2023 and beyond. So far, there have been 27 updates in the past 27 months, meaning the game has been getting monthly updates since release.
