Yakuza: Like A Dragon Releases Later This Year, Also An Xbox Series X Launch Title

Took them long enough. Sega has released Ryu Ga Gotoku 7 in Japan (and Asia, available in Chinese). But they have finally announced that the English version, titled Yakuza: Like A Dragon, will finally be released later this year.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon marks the start of a new chapter for the Yakuza series. Not only do we get a new mainline protagonist in Ichiban Kasuga, but it also has a new combat system. Instead of the character-action style of before, it’s now a proper JRPG with turn-based combat, with summons and a job system.

You can bet that the main story is still a serious melodrama, but expect the goofy substories as always in this new town of Yokohama.

Revealed again on the Inside Xbox’s “gameplay” stream, Yakuza: Like A Dragon will be an Xbox Series X launch title, featuring Smart Delivery: buy it once, own it for Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon will be out for the PS4, PC (Steam, Windows Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
