Xbox Will Honour Deathloop And Ghostwire: Tokyo Limited-Time PS5 Exclusive Deals

Xbox just made a pro gamer move with the acquisition of Zenimax Media, which includes Bethesda and its many developers and games for a cool $7.5 billion USD.

The one short-term worry that players may have is the fate of two Bethesda games for next-gen console: Arkane’s Deathloop and Tango Gameworks’ Ghostwire: Tokyo. Both games have a limited-time console exclusive deal on PS5.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said they will honour the deal still. So future PS5 owners should not be worried.

However, we won’t know for sure how future games from Bethesda will remain multiplatform or will they become Xbox exclusives. “We’ll take other consoles on a case-by-case basis,” Spencer said.

It is to note that this is expected from Microsoft. The Outer Worlds and Wasteland 3 are still multi-platform releases after the company acquired the developers Obsidian and InXile Entertainment respectively. Xbox is also open to publishing games on other platforms- Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons are available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, and Ori And The Will Of The Wisps just released on Nintendo Switch.

We might see the time when all Bethesda games will be exclusively on Xbox, but at least for the time being, rest assured we can still play their games on other consoles still.
