Xbox’s only presence in Southeast Asia for the long while has only been only in Singapore. Players in the region outside of Singapore who wanted an Xbox console (or subscribe to Xbox Game Pass) has to jump some hoops as there is no official support from Microsoft.
This may change soon in the future. As spotted by Aksiz, the Xbox Singapore Facebook page has recently renamed to Xbox SEA.
Moreover, new posts have seen the page tweet in Bahasa Malaysia as well as in Vietnamese, both for the upcoming Age Of Empires Fan Preview live stream event.
Of the three main console manufacturers, only Sony’s PlayStation has an official presence in Malaysia. More competition is good, as at the end of the day, we players will be getting more choice of games and platforms to play games on.
Is this a signal of Xbox bringing in official support to more countries in SEA? We hope so. And hopefully, we hear official announcements soon.
