Warframe’s Next Update Adds Another Open World, Coming This Fall

Track fauna and do rad tricks on hoverboards

At TennoCon 2018, the annual convention for all things Warframe, developers Digital Extremes detailed many upcoming content that are coming to the free-to-play action shooter.

While many of them are still far in the future, one of them will be arriving this year. The Fortuna update will another open world map similar to Plains Of Eidolon. But this time the map is on a part of Venus.

Similar to Plains Of Eidolon, Fortuna will feature a new faction based in the open world- the Solaris United- that will be providing bounties and quests. Also, you can get yourself a hoverboard- the Bondi K-Drive, to traverse the scapes. And yes, you can do tricks on them.

There was also a 30 minutes worth of gameplay of this new content, which you can watch down here:

The other part of the video also showcased another new update codenamed Railjack. This is not set for release just yet but what it set to do is quite ambitious.

Up to four players can take up control of a Railjack space ship and explore the outer space around Venus, each can be doing different task to ensure the ship running like piloting duties, hull repairs, manning the guns and managing power. You can board other Railjacks by boarding them, which have you go out in space using the Archwing (which allows 3D movement in space).

Basically it’s one of the many co-op ship controlling game on PC, or even Sea Of Thieves, but in space.

Right off the heels of The Sacrifice, the recent cinematic story content which has now arrived on PC and consoles, another new story has been teased called The New War. This is for the veteran players which have gone through all the story quests.

Two new Warframes, codenamed Revenant and Garuda (pictured above the article), were shown off as well, with more details to come.

Warframe is also coming to the Nintendo Switch soon, with the port being handled by Panic Button.
